For A Teacher –Include quick recipes and a few recipes containing apples.  The apple is the symbol for knowledge and wisdom and, according to Scandinavian mythology, the apple regenerates and rejuvenates.  Your special teacher will need just that after enlightening children all day long!  You can also include a cherry recipe or two, as during the Victorian era cherry trees also symbolized education.  A fun idea is to include school pictures you’ve taken throughout the school year. For a really special touch, make sure your child tucks a personal, handwritten note inside the book.

For A Friend Having a Difficult Time (divorce, etc.) – Include quotes that are sure to make her smile and remember how important girl friends really are! What kind of recipes should you include?  Chocolate, of course!

For A Baby Shower – Include your absolutely easiest and fastest recipes!  A new Mom will appreciate anything quick and tasty.

For The Family/Family Reunion - Copy family pictures and create a heritage scrapbook for a favorite family member or relative (s).  Include favorite family recipes. For a family reunion, it would be virtually impossible to hand-make these special cookbooks for everyone at your family get-together.  Instead, you can create one cookbook and have your local copy store make the additional copies you’ll want to share.

For a Friend - Create a cookbook for a special friend and include pictures of the two of you or vintage pictures of two or more women together.  Include recipes you’ve made together or recipes that simply contain desserts.

For Mother’s Day - Create a cookbook scrapbook for that most important lady in your life Mom.  Add childhood pictures, journal special thoughts and memories you have experienced together, and be sure to convey special cooking memories the two of you have shared.  Strawberry recipes should be included because in Victorian flower language, the berry represents perfection!

For THE Perfect Hostess Gift - How many times have you struggled with thoughts of what gift to bring to your hostess?  Well, here is the answer!  Your hostess will beam when you present her with her very own special homemade cookbook.

For a Wedding or Shower- A new bride will truly appreciate a special handmade cookbook featuring some of your tried and true recipes.  Make sure the recipe instructions contain the words, - easy, speedy, quick, or combine all ingredients and dump in a crockpot!
