Best place to purchase items –

a) Michaels – they typically have 40% off coupons nearly every week,

b) Hobby Lobby – they are also offering 40% coupons.  They are small and located at the bottom of their ads,

c) JoAnn Fabrics – sign up for their mailers and website.  You will get a 40% off coupon every two weeks.

1.                    Fiskar’s Trimmer – 12” Craft ($24.99) – It’s important to have a good paper trimmer for cropping, cutting pictures, etc.  There are cheaper and more expensive models – I really like this one.  When your pages begin to get ragged when you use your cutter, replace the blades.  Two extra blades are $5.29/each.

2.                 Thermo Web Mounting Squares ($5.49 for 750 or $1.99 for 250) --  This is what you use to attach your pictures to your paper for cropping.  Prices for these don’t vary from store-to-store.  They are also available at Long’s Drugs at a good price – always seem to be on sale.

3.                 Fiskar’s Microtip Scissors ($11.99) – Of course, any scissors will do but these are very sharp and magnetic.  Great for picking up brads and other metal embellishments.

4.                 Eyelet Tool Kit by Making Memories ($29.99) or purchase in pieces – Hole Punch (with 3 different sizes) - $5.99, Universal Eyelet Setter (with four attachments) - $9.99, and Paper Piercer ($2.49) – This is my favorite kit.  The paper piercer is used for so many things from piercing the paper for brads to tucking in tape pieces, etc.  There is also an eyelet setter on the market that you pound with your hand – ouch!  Plus it takes a lot of effort.  We’re into scrapbooking for fun – not to work!

5.                 Sticky Squares or Popdots ($2.99) – These add dimension to your pages.  They can take a flat, nondescript page and make it very eye-appealing.

6.                 Cardstock Paper ($2.99 - $3.99) – Don’t ever pay full price for this.  Some store will always have it on sale!  Also, you get better prices if you buy in bulk and split with a friend.

7.                  Corner Rounder (6.99) – This is pretty critical.  It rounds the corners of your pictures or matting.  You can do it by hand but this is quick and works great.  They can be difficult to find but Hobby Lobby usually has them.  They had plenty when I looked!  Make sure you get this heavy duty one.  The cheaper ones break easily.

8.                 Supply Box ($1.99) – These plastic boxes are great for putting your embellishments.  They are easy to see and get at.  These boxes are available everywhere.

9.                 Vellum Tape ($3.99) – This is the only tape I have found that will adhere vellum to your cardstock.  Always in stock at Hobby Lobby.  It’s fun to use.

10.              Bone Folder ($4.00 to $5.00) – I love my bone folder!  It is great for smoothing corners and for applying my vellum tape.  I have two…

If you are serious about scrapbooking and want a good copier – I would highly recommend an HP PSC 500.  They are less than $300 and you can copy vellum beautifully, you can feed cardstock, and cartridges are fairly reasonable and last for a very long time.  I would not be without mine.
