·       Never cut a Polaroid as the picture will split and will be ruined.

·       When cropping a photo, never use decorative scissors.  It takes away from the main focus of your picture.

·       Cut your photo in squares, rectangles, circles or ovals.  Squares seem to be the preferred shape but ovals or circles work nicely in smaller, hard-to-fill spaces. They also look great overlapped on a square cut picture.  Try it!

·       A good thing to remember is that the eye is always drawn to the lightest part of the photo.

·       Mat or double mat (within ¼- to ½-inch from the edge of the photo) your photos if you really want to emphasize or bring out more than one color in the photo.

·       Use your corner rounder on both the picture and the mat for a unique effect.

·       Cropping the picture will center the subject and remove distractions.  Don’t crop too much.

·        If you don’t want to crop a special picture but want to include it on your page, copy it onto cardstock.

·       Keep photos large enough to be eye-pleasing

·       There are special tissues to cleaning fingerprints off photos
