The ultimate of being successful is the
luxury of giving yourself the time
to do what you want to do.

Leontyne Price

1.                  Start with your sheet of 6x6-inch paper.

2.                  Divide your recipe in two by separating the ingredients from the directions.  Mount both. The brown holder below the recipe directions are insert envelopes (From Nostalgiques – the Attic Collection).  The Notch & Die kit is the most fun and versatile tool!  It makes notches – pointed, round and straight slits (which is great for applying ribbons to your page).  I purchased the kit from Hobby Lobby (with my 40% off coupon, of course) and I believe I paid about $14 for it. It is simple to use – you just rock back and forth with slight pressure.  It’s great for making your own envelopes too.

Above, I mounted my fish picture in black and then made another frame (with the Notch & Die instrument) and created round notches.  It sets the picture off nicely.

3.                  Slide your recipe directions into your little envelope.  Since it is open at both ends, I attached a button below the bottom notch so the recipe does not slip through.

The next recipe page will be created using eyelets.  This is a scrapbooking tool that, when used properly on your page late in the evenings, can really serve as an annoyance to your sleeping spouse!
